We are thrilled to announce that the Environmental Data and Governance Initiative (EDGI) and the Technoscience Research Unit have received the J. Franklin Jameson Archival Advocacy Award from the Society of American Archivists. This award recognizes the work of the TRU in hosting our Guerrilla Archiving event in December, which helped to launch over community archiving “Data Rescue” events across the United States. TRU members Dawn Walker, Matthew Price, and Michelle Murphy worked many long hours supporting these events and helping to build the EDGI toolkit. As a result of this effort that included thousands of volunteers, our partner the Internet Archive announced that they now host over 200 terabytes of government websites and data collected largely through Data Rescue events. TRU member Matthew Price will be going to the Portland to accept the award on July 26th.
